David Bentsen joined Speidel Law Firm as an associate attorney in June, 2009, following his graduation from Willamette Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review and Executive Editor of the Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution.
David made full partner in 2016.

David has an excellent legal mind for research, writing and legal argument.  For example, his 2011 brief regarding the Recall of Mayor Rick Heiberg of Coulee City resulted in the Supreme Court of Washington entering its order supporting our position without requiring the customary oral argument.  David has earned the respect and appreciation of clients, as reflected in this client note of March 2012: “Thank you David Bentsen for your help with our real estate purchase.  You were a pleasure to work with and very professional.  I will recommend your services to anyone needing an attorney’s assistance.”

In 2016, David was honored with the Attorney Award of the Chelan-Douglas Bar Association for outstanding, dedicated and unselfish contributions to providing volunteer legal services to those less fortunate.

David is a past president of the Chelan-Douglas Volunteer Attorney Services.  This organization provides free legal services to low income people in Chelan and Douglas counties.  Each year approximately 240 local attorneys donate over 500 hours of time to ensure access to justice for hundreds of people with civil legal problems.

Additionally, David is President of the Wenatchee North Rotary Foundation, nonprofit charity affiliated with the Wenatchee Confluence Rotary Club (formally Wenatchee North Rotary).  In 2018, he was recognized by Rotary as the “Changemaker” for the Wenatchee North Rotary Club.

Outside of the legal profession, David is an avid rower.  As Secretary for the Wenatchee Row and Paddle Club, David is currently working to develop masters rowing opportunities in the Wenatchee Valley.
