Tawnya Nelson joined Speidel Bentsen LLP in 2012. With a wealth of experience and expertise, she serves as the Senior Legal Assistant, providing invaluable support to Mr. Speidel and Mr. Bentsen across a diverse array of client matters. Her responsibilities encompass a spectrum of crucial tasks, including document preparation, client coordination, and meticulous file maintenance. However, it is in guiding and aiding clients through the intricate probate process that Tawnya finds her work most fulfilling, showcasing her dedication to ensuring clients navigate this complex terrain with ease and confidence.

From 2014 to 2022, Tawnya assumed a pivotal role in the North Central Washington Estate Planning Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive professional education to local estate planning professionals. Her administrative support and coordination skills significantly contributed to the council’s success in fostering a community of learning and growth among estate planning practitioners.  She currently assists Chelan County Mountain Rescue Association, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue, emergency medical care and mountain safety education, as their Social Media Coordinator.

Tawnya graduated cum laude from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Writing and Literature, complemented by a specialization in Professional and Creative Writing.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Tawnya’s leisure hours are adorned with the enchantment of books, in her garden, where she nurtures a kaleidoscope of flowers and vegetables, or channeling her energy into home remodeling projects alongside her husband.  Her household is a lively menagerie, as they share their home with a growing family of pets, currently including two dogs and three cats.
